Care Home Odour Control: Uric Acid Cleaning Case Study

Care Home Case Study – Uric Acid and Odour Control  21st March 2025  | By Anna Armstrong   |  Cleaning Tips ,  Environmental Health ,  Hygiene Following on from last weeks case study, I thought this week I’d expand and discuss the best way and the appropriate products to help to control the odours associated with incontinence. These water products are encased by protein, which is made up of amino acids – amino acids are inherently sticky, so they stick to any surface that isn’t completely smooth. This characteristic means that uric acid sticks in between tiles, to grout and to the fibres that make up mattresses. It is the DEW range, an electolysed water range, with a shelf life of two years. It is entirely natural, approved by Allergy UK, which is important. It is not going to create any nasty symptoms, they are so so safe that it is no hazard warning signs on any of the products at all. A real revolution in terms of the kinds of products we have brought in here. I wanted to talk to you today particularly about stain removal and Superclean. This is a bottle of red wine, which I have just wantonly poured over the carpet. So we are going to use superclean to get rid of this red wine by just dabbing. Red wine has been spilled on your carpet, OMG ...
